Ottawa Accident Lawyer: Should I take photos after a collision?

After an Ottawa car accident you should definitely take photos of your car and, if possible, of the other vehicle.   Often  the insurance company will rely heavily on the amount of damage caused to the vehicles in the accident in assessing the severity of your injuries.  More damage to the vehicle means it may be easier to prove that the accident was significant, and that the injuries are serious.  If you take your own photos, you will not be dependent on the insurance company’s photos, which may minimize the damage.

Take photos of the car from a distance to get perspective, and also close to the damage parts to that the depth of the dents can be seen.

If possible, photos taken from inside the car can also show if the dash or console was moved and therefore may have come in contact with your body.
